Golden Turmeric Latte Recipe

This recipe is packed with powerful ingredients that are most effective when combined. Therefore, producing a delicious potent expectorant turmeric latte, which can be used for a variety of ailments. Traditionally used to combat the symptoms of cold and flu.

Ingredients:

2 cups of Fresh Milk
1 tsp Freshly ground Turmeric root or Turmeric powder
1 tsp Freshly ground Ginger root
5 Cardamom pods (skin removed and only use the black seeds found within)
1 Cinnamon stick
5 Black peppercorns
1 tsp Honey‎ to flavour the latte. (*Optional)

 

Method:

    1. Place milk into a pot on high heat for 3 minutes.
    2. Add Turmeric
    3. Add Ginger
    4. Add Cardamom pods
    5. Add Cinnamon stick
    6. Add Black Peppercorns
    7. Continue to boil on high for an extra 5 minutes. Lower heat and simmer for a further 5mins
    8. Strain Latte and pour into cup, when the latte has cooled add honey for flavouring.

* Note: Honey added to high temperatures kills off the medicinal properties of honey.
** Turmeric is fat-soluble, meaning it dissolves in fat. Therefore, in order to reap the maximum benefits from turmeric, a fat transporter is required.
*** Studies have found that by combining turmeric and black pepper, absorption from the digestive system into the bloodstream is boosted tremendously and its bioavailability in the body is immensely increased.
